I’m Aileen, a professional writer and recovering perfectionist.
This website was created out of my passion for helping women let go of perfectionism once and for all. After all, that’s the only way we’ll find lasting happiness and success.
You can read all about my story here but I’ll just go over the basics: I am a Type A perfectionist who has struggled with impostor syndrome for many years. After a long and sometimes painful journey, I have learned how to use my personality traits to my advantage instead of letting them control me. Now I want to help you do the same.
I want you to experience what I have found – a life filled with positivity, happiness and success – and I want to help you get there faster than I did.
If you are anything like me you don’t like talking about your feelings, the idea of therapy or counselling makes you cringe, and you consider “relaxing” something that only lazy people do.
I am right there with you – or at least I was.
epistoleary is about helping you live alongside your perfectionism and achieve balance and success without all the gushy stuff. I want to offer you practical advice from someone who has been there and experienced what you go through on a daily basis.
Disclaimer: there is no cure for perfectionism. The best we can do is learn to embrace imperfection!
The answer to getting past perfectionism is not to keep achieving until you beat it. Continual success will not rid you of that tiny, annoying voice telling you that you’re a fraud and everything you have you got through luck and good timing.
Getting past perfectionism and impostor syndrome is all about learning to forgive yourself and seeing in yourself what the rest of the world does: a bad ass lady who deserves love, respect and success.
